The
Enhanced Mental Health west team are looking to recruit a motivated and
enthusiastic Support Worker to join our successful, friendly & supportive
team. Our Support Workers work very closely with all members of the MDT.
Whilst this post requires no professional
registration, experience within mental health is essential.The
post holder's professional development will be supported by the service through
regular supervision and training opportunities.
We
are a committed integrated service that strives to provide quality
recovery-based support to people with severe and enduring mental health related
difficulties within Barnsley area.
This
post is part-time (22.5 hours) & the service is open Monday to Friday 08.30
to 19.00 & Saturday & Sundays 9-5. Flexible working can be discussed.
All staff have access to phone & Laptops. The post is based at The James
Barnes Centre at Kendray hospital.
At the time of advertising,

Main duties of the job
The
post holder will be a key member of the MDT & will working directly with
service users under & their families.
The
post holder will work very closely with the care coordinators in the team to
deliver interventions with the service users in line with their agreed care
plans. Interventions will generally be done in their homes & in the
community with the purpose of preventing relapse, increasing social inclusion
& helping the service users on from secondary mental health services.
The
post holder will also provide feedback to the wider team during service user
reviews & remain in touch with them during any admissions to hospital.
The
post holder will be given support and appropriate training, they will also have
access to regular supervision both individual and as a team. Their skills and
development will be supported as part of the induction process & reviewed
regularly during line management supervision & annual appraisal.
