Job summary
We are looking for an HCPC registered Dietitian to join our
friendly and welcoming Tier 3 Weight Management Service in Barnsley.
We are keen to hear form newly qualified Dietitians (or
those who are nearing the end of their training), in addition to existing Band
5 Dietitians who may wish to flourish in a Tier 3 service.
As a Band 5 Dietitian you will be responsible for managing a
caseload of patients requiring dietetic support on their weight loss journey
via several methods: one to one clinics and groups, delivered face to face and
remotely, using evidence based practice and behaviour change techniques. Both children and adults can be referred into
our service.
The successful candidate will possess excellent team
working, communication, organisation and time management skills, as well as be
able to demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development.
This is a community based role and applicants must have a
driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
At

Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Tier 3 Weight
Management Dietitian you will:
Manage a caseload of patients requiring
dietetic support on their weight loss journey
Be able to adapt your approach to working with
individuals and groups
Work at a range of clinic sites across
Barnsley, delivering one to one clinics and group sessions
Work alongside the Team Lead Dietitian, other
Dietitians and Dietetic Assistant to meet the needs of the service
Have a patient centred approach in line with
our Trust values
Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
Possess excellent
communication/interpersonal skills to negotiate and build rapport with patients
Have an understanding of
current dietetic issues relating to obesity and weight management
Work in partnership with other
health professionals to provide holistic patient care
Work with key members of
multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide individualised advice, support &
care plans to patients
Demonstrate excellent time
management, prioritisation & organisational skills
Participate in education &
staff development, clinical supervision and the appraisal process
Contribute to the delivery of
dietetic student training

- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Desirable
- Evidence of other post-registration education and training.
Experience

- Experience of working in a therapy setting across the health community (inpatients and outpatients).

- Experience of training student dieticians.
