We are looking for motivated,
enthusiastic, and passionate Registered Mental Health, Learning Disability
Nurses, Social Workers, or Occupational therapists to join the Youth Justice
Service (YJS). This is a CAMHS position that sits within the YJS Specialist
Team. We strive to support the most vulnerable young people, by improving their
access to mental health services, supporting systemic processes, and working
therapeutically both on a 1-1 basis and within group settings. Barnsley YJS is
dedicated to a Child First Approach, relationally based and trauma responsive
practice.
There is scope for band 5 to 6
progression upon acquisition and demonstration of specialist skills and
experience.

Main duties of the job
The successful
candidate will work autonomously and as a team player providing timely access
to specialist services for children who come into contact with the Youth
Justice service (YJS). You will utilise an outreach model to connect with those
young people who are difficult to engage. You will manage your own caseload,
providing high quality care appropriate to the young persons needs, including
risk assessment/management, planning and review within a multidisciplinary
framework. In addition, you will develop good working relationships with
professionals across the borough. Excellent communication and engagement skills
are essential. A commitment to improving service delivery and developing new
ways of supporting children and families experiences is crucial to work within
the YJS.
