Are you driven by a passion to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with learning disabilities? We invite you to join our Community Learning Disabilities Team as a Therapy Assistant, where you will play a pivotal role in providing crucial support across the allied health professions
Key Responsibilities:
Collaboration:
Engage closely with therapists to effectively implement and support therapy plans.
Therapeutic Interventions:
Facilitate therapeutic activities and interventions, tailored to the unique needs of each client. This may include implementing mobility and exercise plans, guiding activities of daily living in the community, and creating accessible resources.
Team Collaboration:
Work with healthcare professionals, service providers, and family members to establish a cohesive and integrated approach to individualised care. Ability to work as part of a team and in independently when necessary.
The successful applicant will possess:
Excellent Communication Skills:
Demonstrate effective communication skills adaptable to the diverse needs of our service users.
Computer Proficiency:
High-level competence in using computers to facilitate efficient documentation and the making of therapy resources.

Main duties of the job
A therapy assistant working with individuals with learning disabilities plays a crucial role in supporting the therapeutic process across different professions, including physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, and occupational therapy.
Work closely with therapists to implement therapy plans.
Assist in conducting assessments under the guidance of therapists to gather information about the individual's abilities and challenges.
Carry out specific therapeutic activities and exercises as outlined by the therapists.
Ensure that therapy plans are followed consistently and appropriately.
Observe and monitor the individual's responses to therapy activities.
Provide feedback to therapists regarding the individual's progress, challenges, and achievements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, including progress notes and relevant data.
Maintaining confidentiality and complying to the clinical governance framework.
Participate in relevant continued professional development activities.
