We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, Registered Nurse to work within the Neighbourhood Nursing Service throughout the Barnsley area. The service is responsible for delivering a wide range nursing care to housebound patients, which includes wound management, chronic disease management, promotion of self-care, terminal/palliative care and the administration of IV anti-biotics for admission avoidance.

Main duties of the job

As a Neighbourhood Staff Nurse you will support the District Nurse in carrying out nursing care for patients primarily within their home but you will also participate in clinic sessions. We are in the process of implementing a new integrated model of care which will require staff to have the flexibility to work to a 8am 8pm model of service delivery.

Enthusiasm and the ability to use your own initiative are essential, along with good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage your time effectively. You will need the ability to work both as part of a team and as a lone worker, along with the use of a vehicle to undertake any necessary travel in connection with the duties of the post. You will be allocated to a specific Neighbourhood, however, it should be noted that you are employed to work across the service and may be required to move bases if/when required.
