Job summary
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your administrative skills and gain some experience in the National Health Service?
We are looking to recruit four Reception Administrative Apprentices who will get the opportunity to learn all about the vital role played by our patient facing staff members who welcome hundreds of patients into The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust on a daily basis. The role will ensure valuable work experience as well as gaining key skills such as quality record keeping, time management and communication skills. The responsibilities of the role are to support and engage with different parts of the organisation and interact with internal and external customers. The flexibility and responsiveness required in this role allows the individual to develop a wide range of skills.
Being part of the Access Booking and Choice Reception team will also mean you are given quality training and the opportunity to develop your skills whilst working in the role of receptionist. You will be supported by a supervisor where you will be given dedicated study time every week to work towards obtaining your Level 3 Business Administration qualification which will support towards future career prospects in the NHS and other organisations.

Main duties of the job
To provide efficient, clear system of communication and administration to enable the department to run effectively and smoothly.
As a Reception Administrative Apprentice, you will be learning and developing in a busy and exciting role working towards obtaining your Level 3 Business Administration Qualification. Within your role, you will be supported by a dedicated supervisor to ensure you are meeting the expectations of the role and the expectations of your qualification. The core skills that you will gain in this role will promote your future chances of employment and could also support a future NHS career if this is something you are considering.
Please note that this role covers three different hospital sites: Pinderfields Hospital, Dewsbury Hospital and Pontefract Hospital and you will be assigned a dedicated location following successful interview. The role is full time (37.5 hours) Monday to Friday and 20% of your role will be dedicated time to study and work towards your qualification.
To be eligible for a funded apprenticeship, you must be over the age of 16, a resident in the UK/EU for the last three years and you must not hold a level 3 qualification (or above) or an NVQ Level 2 qualification in the same pathway or subject, e.g. BTEC or GCSE.
Please note that this is an apprenticeship post, and you will be remunerated in accordance with Annex 21 Agenda for Change (75% of the top of Band 2 pay scale).
