Job summary
As an Advanced Clinical
Practitioner, you will help shape and develop new ways of working, developing,
and formulating pathways for patients who are accessing venous intervention.
You will be supported by a triumvirate team consisting of medical, nursing, and
service leaders.
You will be a qualified Advanced
Clinical Practitioner with underpinning surgical knowledge and experience who
has a passion to specialise in the field of vascular care. You will have the
opportunity to influence the model of working within the service, and it is
expected that you will work across multiple sites. Your work will involve
undertaking independent varicose vein clinics, performing venous
ultrasonography assessments, and independently undertaking venous intervention
(radiofrequency ablation and foam sclerotherapy).
This is a role where your
experience and skills will be valued, and the four pillars of advanced practice
are key to the roles success. You will be supported in developing your
knowledge base by completing a comprehensive induction and competency package.
You must be a registered
professional and have extensive post-registration experience within surgical
care, ideally in vascular surgery.
You should be able to demonstrate
management and leadership skills, including enhanced communication and
negotiation skills; be flexible and willing to learn; and have excellent
interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will:
Manage their own caseload of patients who
present with undifferentiated and undiagnosed illness.
Undertake audit within the clinical setting to
develop an evidence base.
Provide formal and informal teaching, support
and clinical supervision to nursing staff and junior medical staff.
Provide support to more junior members of the
advanced clinical practitioner team and the wider clinical teams.
Ensure maintenance of clinical excellence.
Support the wider multidisciplinary team, undertaking
independent comprehensive assessment and management of patients to incorporate
physiological, psychological and pharmacological considerations, making
multifaceted complex clinical decisions regarding patient management and
clinical outcomes, including, where appropriate, the discharging patients from
the service when treatment is complete/optimum outcome is achieved.

To be competent in providing an initial clinical

fields.
Use

Be

Provide
personal care plans to patients and develop, implement and evaluate care
including independently prescribed medications, monitoring therapeutic
