An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Violence and Aggression Reduction Training team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.
Based at our hospital in Dewsbury, the successful candidate will be an experienced trainer who will be responsible for the delivery of Maybo certified training programmes in personal safety across the Trust.
Full Maybo training will be provided.

This is a full time position with 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday from 08.00am to 16.00pm.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join our team to deliver safe and effective Maybo Certified training programmes to our workforce pertaining to personal safety and dealing with violence and aggression in the workplace.

- To be
responsible for delivering and evaluating educational training in personal
safety.
- To be
involved/contribute in the launching, promotion and implementation of the Trust
policy on the management of violence and aggression.
- To assess
staff during personal safety training to ensure nationally agreed competencies
are met.
- To support
audit on the use of physical restraint
- To facilitate
Maybo certified training safely and effectively in line with Health &
Safety legislation and National guidance - Restraint Reduction Network (RRN)
standards
- Be a role
model and uphold professional standards for the management of violence and
aggression.
- Provide up to
date information on personal safety and violence and aggression training and
provide formative and summative reports to the Lead as required.
- Ensure
databases and records of training are maintained.
- Ensure all
pre and post course administration is completed in line with organisational
procedures and national guidelines including health declarations,
accident/incident forms
- Assist with
the processes of performing training needs analysis to determine staff training
requirements.
- Supervise and
monitor staff attending personal safety training.
- To provide
support and guidance to the other staff trainers, including coaching and
guiding newly-trained trainers
- Audit
training compliance rates and alert the personal safety lead to any issues as
they arise.
- Support Security
management in visiting clinical areas to conduct post incident reviews.
- Supports Security
management in devising and developing mandatory and statutory training in
personal safety suitable for all areas of the organisation.

patient experience of safety, privacy and dignity within the organisation is
enhanced though the provision of effective mandatory education programs for all
relevant staff.

to ensuring that relevant and required national requirements, policies and
guidelines relating to personal safety, violence and aggression education,
training and workforce are available, up to date, and reflective of relevant
national policy, standards and requirements.

to ensuring that the organisation meets national requirements with regard to
nursing and MDT workforce and education, e.g. Nursing & Midwifery Council.
Support Security management in the collection and collation of evidence and
assurance in this regard.

participate in research projects regarding dealing with violence and aggression
in the workplace and professional education issues.
- Support Security
management in designing, implementing and evaluating training packages as
required by the organisation.
- Support and
contribute to the divisional audit programme with regard to incidents of violence and aggression ensuring results are
published and shared, and that lessons learnt and improvement are evidenced.
- Design and
complete audits of training in order to ensure organisation is compliant with
national standards as directed by the personal safety lead.
- Develop and
maintain professional links with other departments, organisations and
individuals who conduct work within the field of personal safety.

the identification and management of risks associated with violence &
