This is an exciting time for the Dermatology Unit at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse post, within our established Dermatology team.
Our dynamic, motivated team of nurses work across our trust sites to provide the highest standards of evidence-based care to patients and relatives. This post will provide expert care for patients' with long term chronic skin conditions while guiding development and planning of service delivery for this patient group.
This clinically based role will require you to complete the clinical assessment and examination and is the ideal opportunity for Dermatology nurses to extend their role further
We are looking for self- motivated, enthusiastic nurses with experience in Dermatology who are keen to further develop their knowledge and skills and who will welcome the exciting and varied opportunities this role will provide.
Main duties of the job
This Sister/Charge Nurse post will be a full time role based at the Pontefract site. There may be times when the post holder will need to work at the Pinderfields and Dewsbury sites if required.
The role will involve supporting the Band 7 Lead Nurse in managing and supporting a team of nurses to provide high quality care for the patients within our care. The role will also involve mentoring and training junior members of staff and student nurses. There are various nurse led treatment clinics - phototherapy, Diphencyprone, minor surgery and patch testing.
The departments are open Monday-Friday 07.30-17.30 and shift patterns will be within these hours.
