Job summary

We are currently looking for qualified, trained Decontamination Technicians eager to take the next steps to become a Supervisor. Candidates must have decontamination experience, ideally qualified to NVQ or equivalent level in decontamination, along with any other pertinent qualifications connected to decontamination and ideally currently working in a decontamination of surgical instrumentation/medical devices role. This role is based at Dewsbury in the central decontamination facility that covers all 3 sites attached to The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. It is a busy department that is always striving for excellence and one that operates a strict quality management system to aid in this. You must also be committed to undertaking and passing a qualification within 18 months.

This is a permanent full time role, working 37.5 hours per week on a rolling rota basis working on varied shifts patterns between 08.00am-16.00pm, 10.00am-19.00pm or 08.00am to 17.00pm. This also includes rostered weekends.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the supervision in decontamination to ensure that safe working practices and quality controls are maintained at all times.

To be responsible for the day to day operational arrangements of the service.

Be the first point of contact for the resolution of internal and external complaints and making routine operational decisions within predetermined procedures.

Take lead responsibility for the training and assessment of staff.
