Operational Delivery of Services:

Estates

Responsible for the development and delivery of estates services across the Trust, whether PFI or in house.

Advisor on all land, property and estates matters to the CEO and to the Board.

Work closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure that all estates matters are considered as part of any business/service reconfiguration and in the development of the strategic ambitions of the Trust.

Support the development of all estates schemes and preparation of effective business cases to secure stakeholder support.

Capital Projects

Has responsibility for delivering Capital Program Budgets and associated schemes to the value of £40 million per annum.

Ensures professional, robust, and timely project management is in place for all capital projects.

Be responsible for the management of the Trust's annual capital program budgets and delivering schemes to time, cost, and quality.

Support the development of all capital schemes and preparation of effective business cases to secure stakeholder support.

Medical Physics

Responsible for the management of medical devices and equipment based in clinical areas, pathology and radiology departments which also includes the medical equipment loan libraries and dynamic mattress decontamination unit.

The services extend to laser protection, radiation physics and co-ordination of radiation protection services and includes procedures and guidelines for safeguarding the interest of staff and patients. Also, provision of Physiological Measurements support for Urological and Gynaecological Services.

The role needs to ensure that the Trust meets all their statutory requirements in terms of non-ionising radiation regulations, clinical laser safety and patient and user safety.

This service is also offered to community trusts, general practitioners and local Private hospitals through established service level agreements which generate income for the trust.

Decontamination Services

Responsible for the Hospital Sterilisation & Decontamination Unit (HSDU) and Flexible Scoping Decontamination Unit which is the Trust's on-site decontamination facility.

This service supplies a range of specialist services to cross-site operating theatres, wards, and departments, as well as clinics, GP Practices, community, and private sector patrons in relation to the reprocessing of reusable medical devices.

PFI Management

Support the management of PFI contracts to the annual value of £50 million and ensure the effectiveness and appropriateness of the overall service delivery provided under the PFI schemes.

Provide advice to the Executive Team and the Trust Board on all matters relating to the delivery, monitoring and where necessary management of the PFI contracts.

Operate as an 'intelligent client' and ensure effective management of the contracts within the estates and facilities management teams.

Facilities Management

Responsible for the development and delivery of all facilities services across the Trust.
