Job summary
At
MYTT an opportunity has arisen for a new Team Leader to join the CT team. You will be responsible for coordinating
resources and delivering a high-quality, patient-centered service. You will
play a key role in the planning, co-ordination, monitoring and delivery of the CT
service.
You will maintain a high level of clinical
practice with a balance of admin, management and clinical duties. Significant
experience in CT scanning is
essential and the post holder must demonstrate excellent clinical and
leadership skills. You will be part of a vibrant and busy team who work
together to support each other to achieve the best for every patient.
MYTT CT cover 3
hospital sites; Pontefract, Pinderfields and Dewsbury as well as a newly
installed Community Diagnostic Centre based in Wakefield. The CT team work
nights, extended days, evenings and weekends (including bank holidays), however
the core hours for this position are primarily Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Main duties of the job
To take responsibility for
the site leadership of the CT service under the direction of the Consultant
Radiographer and Radiology Services Manager.
To work closely with the
modality Consultant Radiographer ensuring clinical standards are established,
quality is maintained, and patient pathways developed and agreed.
The post holder will provide leadership
and operational management for the specialist CT service across MYHT,
delivering high quality clinical care.
They
will demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise within the modality,
working alongside the radiology service manager and consultant radiographer to
provide excellent clinical care, advice, education, and support to staff and
other key stakeholders.
The
post holder will manage and lead the whole service team comprising of Trainee
Radiographers, Senior Radiographers and Clinical Support Workers and other team
members. In addition, they will lead the development and delivery of a
programme of practice and continued professional development for staff within
the speciality. This will be achieved
through working in partnership with lead clinicians, Consultant Radiographers, Managers
and other team leaders.

To work without supervision performing a full range of procedures as determined by departmental protocols and to adapt technique to the condition of the patient and level of co-operation.
To initiate and advise on follow-up action with patients where appropriate. To utilise expert knowledge and skills to provide specialist advice to other members of the multidisciplinary team. Provide a seamless, high-quality service from referral through to authorisation, imaging / intervention and reporting.
To actively develop high standards of patient care in self and others, ensuring Trust policies and protocols are widely communicated and are implemented e.g., infection control.
