and 3 Head & Neck Radiologists, among 42 consultant radiologists in the

Main duties of the job
A brief description of the post:
The post is primarily to complement the existing Breast and Head &
Neck Radiology teams, alongside 4 other consultant breast radiologists, 2
consultant breast radiographers and 3 other Head & Neck consultant
radiologists.
The successful candidate will support and enable the teams to deliver a
sustainable excellent service throughout the year for breast and head &
neck pathways in the context of increasing demands and service delivery
expectations particularly around cancer.
They will support the weekly Breast and Head & Neck Cancer
multidisciplinary team meetings on a rotational basis.
They will perform and report specialist breast and head & neck imaging
studies across all of the imaging modalities as well as performing related image
guided intervention.
The post holder will complement a team of 42 other consultant
radiologists who provide a wide range of subspecialist and general radiological
services.
General radiology diagnostic skills are essential and the post holder is
expected to participate in departmental general radiology workload.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in
the out-of-hours diagnostic on call rota, currently involving 1 in 20
weeknights and 1 in 10 weekends; schedules will take due account of the
provisions of working time regulations and safe working.

below represents the anticipated PA commitments, but may be adjusted by
negotiation to suit the appointee and fulfil service requirements.
Networked working arrangements
will be considered to provide specialist clinical work not performed at MYNHST
through agreement with local NHS trusts.
Teleradiology
is in use and all Consultants are provided with access to a notebook PC or home
workstation with secure VPN Broadband connection to enable connection to the
Trust network for remote reporting.
Office
Space is provided across the trust in a flexible arrangement depending on site
presence within an agreed job plan. Pooled secretarial support will be
provided.
