Main duties of the job
- Become an expert in the use of the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) HR/Payroll system.
- Interrogate and analyse the data held within the system taking responsibility for the production workforce information for use at various Senior and Divisional Meetings i.e. Trust Board, Divisional Governance Meeting.
- Provide advice, guidance and training to customers on our workforce systems and coach them on analytical skills.
- Provide specialist advice on complex queries through our Help Desks.
- Play a key role in data quality through the production of data quality reports and engagement with all users of the system.
- Contribute to our transformation programme innovating our services.

Provide detailed management information reports and statistical returns to internal and external customers on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
To analyse workforce data and provide a summary of the analysis in line with business requirements to escalate areas of risk, highlight trends in performance in relation to key workforce metrics, and to enable operational management teams to formulate appropriate action plans and strategies.
To ensure that all workforce data is presented in an appropriate format to support operational management teams.
Responds to complex queries in relation to ESR Self Service. Ability to identify and resolve system related problems.
Provide advice, support and individual training over the phone, via skype or in person to regular users of ESR including the use of reports and accessing the system.
Provide expert advice and guidance to system users to ensure accuracy and completeness of data input is maintained and improved upon, and to ensure a greater understanding of the need for good data quality.
Create, develop and maintain data quality reports in order to check and correct Employee data and ensure the accuracy of that data and to monitor any problem areas.
Undertake regular audits as required to comply with Information Governance requirements.
Monitor data quality reports and record and report back to relevant departments on data quality issues highlighted by the reports, or external sources, and put processes in place to help prevent issues reoccurring.
Provide training, guidance and support to junior members of the team.
Write and maintain departmental procedures, policies and guidance and ensure these are embedded within the team
Use own initiative when dealing with confidential data at all times, referring to any guidance if required.
Undertake any other reasonable and appropriate duties as may be requested, deputising in matters of Data Quality as required.
