Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a number of Locum Consultant
Obstetrician & Gynaecologists to strengthen our obstetrics and gynaecology
team within the Trust. In preparation for the opening of our new surgical hub
to provide efficient and high-quality care to women living across Wakefield and
North Kirklees.
We have state of the art hospitals at Pinderfields,
Pontefract and Dewsbury and are building a new surgical hub which will include
gynaecology at Dewsbury Hospital. Within the gynaecology services, we have a
dedicated Gynaecology assessment unit on the Pinderfields site and offer a wide
range of comprehensive to our patients including:

A BSGE Regional Endometriosis centre

Dedicated Gynaecology assessment unit in
Pinderfields

Outpatient clinics for Menopause, Colposcopy,
Uro-gynaecology, Endometriosis, Hysteroscopy, Minor procedures and
Post-menopause Bleeding.

Gynaecology oncology unit, working with Leeds
Teaching Hospital Oncology teams.

Elective surgery at Pinderfields and Dewsbury
Hospitals with access to Da Vinci Robots on both sites.

Elective Obstetric suites in Pinderfields Hospital.

Midwifery led Birth Centres at Dewsbury and
Pinderfields Hospital

Antenatal clinics on all sites inc specialised

1.5 PAs
Monday to Friday 08:00 18:00 hrs (relieved of all other
activities during this period). The hot
week consultant will undertake ALL ward rounds.
On-call duties for
Obstetrics and Gynaecology only shared
with 13 colleagues on an approximately 1:10 basis and currently assessed as 2.5
PAs (resident from 17:30 hours until 23:00 hours during weekdays Monday to
Friday and 08:00 to 19.30 hours during weekends Saturday and Sunday, outside
these hours the on call will be non-resident)
-typically non-patient-facing duties on a post-on call day.

a minimum of 1.5 SPAs included in the core 10PA timetable. 1.0 SPA Wednesday PM
and 0.5 flexible throughout the week.
Additional SPA or DCC time may be commissioned in line with the skills
of the successful candidate and changing requirements of the service.
MYTT has a well established service for
management of complex gynaecological surgery. We are the biggest BSGE regional
centre for endometriosis in Yorkshire. We offer tertiary level sub-spec
urogynaecolgy surgery service. We work in collaboration with Leeds Teaching
Hospitals for gynaecology cancer cases. We are supported by a multidisciplinary
team of surgeons, urologists and radiologists.
