within the department of Neurosciences at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.
The Mid-Yorkshire
Neuroscience Department provides a sub-regional Acute & Out-patient
Neurology Service to parts of West, North and South Yorkshire. Mid Yorkshire
Hospitals NHS Trust comprises of three large district general hospitals:
Pinderfields Hospital, Pontefract General Infirmary and Dewsbury District
Hospital
The post will
be based at Pinderfields Hospital where the acute Neuroscience facilities for
the Mid Yorkshire region are located. The department of Neurophysiology is
situated within a purpose built unit in the hospital.
You will join a
strong Neuroscience presence within the trust comprising a team of 6 Consultant
Neurologists, 8 Consultant Stroke Physicians, 2 Consultants in Spinal Injuries
and 1 Consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation.
The
department has close links with Leeds and a weekly regional neuroscience
meeting in Leeds will form part of any successful applicants job plan.
This post is
offered on a full time (10 PA) basis although less than full time applications
will be considered.
Main duties of the job
Duties will
be based primarily on our Wakefield (Pinderfields) site although all our
medical staff are involved in delivering care to patients on all our three
sites. The main duties of the post will include:
The indicative
timetable, below, is based on 10PAs (whole time equivalent) and will contain a
mixture of DCC clinical and administrative duties, SPA and other activities
in line with prevailing Terms and Conditions of Service. An indicative workload
would be 4-5 patients seen in each EMG clinic, depending on complexity; 1
patient assessed in a 0.5 PA inpatient EMG session; 10-15 EEGs in 1 PA
reporting session, depending on complexity; 2-3 cases in a prolonged Video/EEG
reporting session (Videotelemetry).
