We are currently seeking highly motivated Community Staff Nurses to join our well-established District Nursing Team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced nurses who are passionate about delivering safe, high-quality care in the community setting.

Our District Nursing team operates across six networks, delivering a broad range of skilled nursing care to patients primarily in their own homes. The team consists of qualified District Nurses, Senior Nurses, Staff Nurses, and Clinical Support Workers, all working autonomously to meet complex healthcare needs.

Main duties of the job

The Community Staff Nurse will contribute to a nursing culture that embraces change, fosters innovation, and remains open to new ideas and approaches to care.

This will be achieved by:

  • Actively participating in the development and delivery of a person-centred care that respects the rights, preferences, and contributions of patients, carers, and colleagues.
  • Communicating confidently and effectively with patients and colleagues, demonstrating strong listening skills and contributing positively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Building and maintaining collaborative, respectful working relationships across all levels of care.
  • Recognising and responding appropriately to conflict, supporting its resolution to promote a healthy and respectful working environment.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant national and regional healthcare priorities and initiatives, and applying this knowledge to practice.
  • Engaging fully in the individual performance review process and taking ownership of personal and professional development.
  • Participating in Clinical Supervision to support reflective practice and continuous improvement.
  • Acting as a professional and positive ambassador for the Trust at all times.
  • Demonstrating a consistent commitment to the Trusts values and behaviours, ensuring these are reflected in all aspects of professional practice, communication, and patient care.
  • Striving for continuous improvement in the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
