Helpdesk Operative

Job summary

To work as part of the Operational Portering Team to provide a help desk service for wards and departments to access Facilities services. The operator will communicate work via radios effectively and efficiently to Facilities teams using the IT based Task Management System to record all work and monitor workflow. The operator will be always courteous and polite to all service users.

This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week on rotating shifts of 6-2, 2-10 and 10-6

Main duties of the job

  • To receive incoming calls from service users requesting Facilities services.
  • Accurately record the user requests onto the Task Management Data Base and manage the system to reflect tasks when they have been assigned/completed.
  • Manage and prioritise tasks in a timely manner with regards to the urgency of the request indicated by the caller.
  • Assign tasks via the radio communication system with regards to the adjacencies of Wards and Departments for the purpose of efficiency.
  • Report to the Supervisor on the status of the workflow, highlighting in a timely manner when the systems are becoming busy.
  • When required the Operator will work within the portering team.
