Job summary
The clinical education midwife will assist in the planning, developing and implementing training programmes for Maternity Multidisciplinary team line with national recommendations and the national core competency framework.
The successful candidate will support lead clinical educator to plan training and education to meet the national recommendations for training in a flexible approach to meet the changing needs of the service in a timely manner.
He/She will assist with monitoring and reporting training compliance for all clinical staff groups and will support the planning, implementing and facilitating external training courses in line with course licence terms, for example critical care training courses. It is essential that the successful candidate role models professional behaviour and leadership skills both in the education and clinical setting.
Main duties of the job
To support the band 7 Clinical Educator with multi-disciplinary training within the Maternity services.
To provide clinical education at ward level when required. To proactively engage with the band 7 clinical educator to support development of innovative learning environments which reflect current service provision.
To support the band 7 Clinical Educator to lead on quality assurance discussions influencing the delivery of educational programmes to meet Professional Body and quality standards.
The post holder will assist in the delivery and implementation of changes in practice, introduce new practices because of clinical audit, recommendations from national, regional or local reports.
The post holder will work closely with the Lead midwife for clinical education, Matrons, Ward Managers and Clinical Governance Lead to provide a coordinated programme of educational activities that creates a positive and supportive learning culture.
