Job summary
The role includes working with a dynamic team who are passionate about Medical Retina and Macula services. The role primarily consists of providing intravitreal therapy in an outpatient environment. There is the potential to develop in other Clinical Nurse Specialist services such as post-op cataract and post-op oculoplastic assessment, and Lacrimal Clinics. Further development opportunities include providing leadership and guidance to new and junior members of the team.
Main duties of the job
To undertake specialist assessment of patients Ophthalmic needs and to plan, implement and evaluate care delivery using clinical knowledge and skills To provide intravitreal treatment for various eye conditions including wet age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular oedema and retinal vein occlusions. To establish and maintain effective communication with patient and carers. To actively engage with developing knowledge and skills to provide Nurse led services including post-op cataract and post-op oculoplastic clinics. Positively encourage others and self to develop future Nurse led services.
