Job summary
A band 6 screening midwife will support the Antenatal and Newborn Screening Coordinator to ensure a high quality antenatal and new born screening service is provided for all women and their families.
The role includes supporting the screening lead midwife the delivery of care to women in the antenatal and new born screening pathway, this will include counselling women, managing screen positive results and collate matched cohort screening data.
The role includes working in the clinical area, providing direct information and support to women To achieve this the Antenatal and New born Screening Team work in collaboration with local programme clinical leads to ensure UKNSC programme standards are met and will monitor the quality and effectiveness of the screening services offered in the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Manage screen positive results across the screening pathways.
Counsel women and their families in the event of a high risk or antenatal screen positive result.
Collect and collate matched cohort screening data for quarterly and annual data returns.
Write and present screening programme reports at local, regional and national level.
Participate in audit, education of staff and guideline development.
