Job summary
This post is for a Healthcare Support Worker within the X-ray and DXA team at Dewsbury and District Hospital. The hours of work are normally 8-4 or 9-5:30. The successful candidate will be expected to rotate between Dewsbury and District Hospital and the Community Diagnostic Centre (Westgate Retail Park, Wakefield). There is often the opportunity to pick up further shifts on evenings, weekends and nights. For further information, please see the attached job description.
Main duties of the job
To work under the direction of a registrant (usually this is a radiographer) and participate fully in the delivery of a planned/ acute care of patients attending the radiology service for treatment/ investigations. To provide general support in the X-ray and DXA team. This will include providing 1-1 patients centred care, assisting patients with changing, general cleaning and tidying of the department, support patients through their examinations and performing some admin/ clerical roles.
