Main duties of the job
The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will demonstrate a commitment to quality patient care through effective leadership and team working and will work at all times in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Code of professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines. The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will exhibit the Trusts Values and Behaviours and will model the way for others to demonstrate these in their practice. The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse role is multidimensional and requires the post holder to assume responsibility for effectively clinically leading a team, providing advice, information and support; alongside actively supporting the Senior Sister/ Charge Nurse in the safe and efficient management of the ward/ department and deputising in their absence. The job purpose is to ensure a high quality standard of effective patient centred care is performed and delivered, this will be achieved through individual assessment of care needs, developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care to ensure the needs of the patient and their families/carers are being met.
