Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a (0.5 WTE) band 8 Senior Practitioner Psychologist / Specialist Psychological Therapist to join an innovative and growing Psychological Services Department within a large acute hospital Trust. The department comprises clinical psychologists, practitioner psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors working into a range of specialities including Neuropsychology, Spinal, Pain, Burns, Oncology and Palliative Care Services. We actively encourage and support supervision, CPD and service-related research. As a department we take trainees from several local training courses in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, and Counselling Psychology, and have good academic links to the local training courses. Clinical supervision and professional support will be provided by experienced Practitioner Psychologists within the MY Psychological Services Department. The post holder will provide input into the Medicine Speciality within the MY Psychological Services Department. The post-holder will provide support to a range of patients accessing the Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust across 3 hospital sites. The applicant should be enthusiastic, highly motivated, and resourceful with strong skills in delivering psychological treatment and working effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide input into the Medicine Speciality within the MY Psychological Services Department. The post-holder will provide support to a range of patients accessing the Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust across 3 hospital sites. The post-holder will provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment to patients with complex medical conditions (e.g. cardiology, dermatology, diabetes and endocrinology, and gastroenterology), as well as advice and consultation to professional colleagues.
