Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and experienced mental health practitioner to join our well-established, friendly and supportive Community Mental Health Team for Older People (CMHTOP) in Rotherham.
This is an innovative and exiting post which has been funded specifically to support our emerging pathway for older people with complex emotional needs (CEN). The post holder will be responsible for providing support to patients with CEN in the context of later life (who may also have a diagnosis of personality disorder), working with a broad range of service providers across all tiers of Mental Health Care and with partner agencies; to deliver effective interventions that meet the needs of this population. This will include Structured Clinical Management and other evidence-based treatments where appropriate.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with our CEN Clinical Lead, OP Community Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Nurse Consultant and wider cohort of SCM practitioners, to develop a bespoke offer for Older People. There will be a comprehensive network of support, including regular individual and group clinical supervision and access to specialist training and accreditation in evidence-based treatments of CEN.
These positions require a high level of autonomous practice, and practitioners will be confident clinicians able to make competent decisions about risk, care planning and the appropriateness of home treatment. Postholders will have relevant knowledge and experience of mental health acute/ crisis work in the community.
