Post: 12 month fixed term secondment B3 Health Improvement Advisor
Team: Healthy Improvement Team
Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Monday to Friday)
Base: Chestnut View, Tickhill Road Site
Main duties of the job
An exciting 12 month opportunity has arisen within the Health Improvement Team to work as a B3 Health Improvement Advisor. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of health improvement advice and interventions to patients and staff within RDASH services. The role involves agile working in many different settings including the inpatient wards, community settings and patient homes, so it is essential you have access to a means of travelling across the Trust's geographical area. The successful person will provide specialist advice and interventions relating to a number of health improvement initiatives including, but not exclusively, smoking cessation, physical activity, healthy eating and sleep hygiene. Team working, excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting people to improve their health choices are essential requirements for this post. Previous experience of working within the Public Health arena will be an advantage.

- Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or above in English and Maths.
- NVQ level 3 in Health care (or equivalent).
- Smoking Cessation Training Level 2 or willing to undertake within 3 months of starting in post.
Desirable
- Specific training in health promotion interventions.
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working in the NHS in the community or hospital setting.
- Experience of working with people with physical health conditions, mental health conditions and / or learning disabilities.
- Experience of providing healthcare, healthcare advice or health promotion advice to patients or members of the public.

- Experience of providing help, support and/or counselling on a one to one or group basis.
- Knowledge and experience of working with secondary care and primary care-based health professionals
