Volunteer Receptionist

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has come available for a Volunteer Receptionist to undertake reception-related duties, which will include welcoming visitors to the Grounded Research Hub, taking receipt of deliveries and answering telephone queries. There will be some additional administrative tasks to help the effective running of the building and helping members of the team as requested.

The volunteer will be a key point of contact for anyone either visiting or phoning Grounded Research and will be an integral part of the team.

Main duties of the job

The volunteer is required to work within the list of tasks identified as follows:

General reception duties, to include: welcoming all visitors to the building, making refreshments, answering the phone, and accepting deliveries to the building.

Setting up the meeting room as required for bookings

Checking stocks of stationery and kitchen supplies

Photocopying

Helping to complete daily building checks as directed e.g. fire, water outlets

Help administering the Grounded Research electronic diary

Maintain a clean and tidy working environment for the reception office, kitchen area and other areas as required

Filing

Supporting the Research Delivery Team as required, e.g. printing and collation of research information packs, helping to put together study materials and other equipment for staff to take to conferences/events

Tasks to be undertaken will be agreed with the volunteer subject to hours being worked and based on previous experience. Volunteers will be trained in local processes to help with their role.

Note: this is not a clinical research role.
