Job summary

Job Purpose

  • The post holder will support our community team's in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, upholding patient dignity delivered with kindness and compassion.
  • The post holder will demonstrate responsibility to patients, relatives, and colleagues through contribution to the development and monitoring of agreed evidence-based practice and to the health and social care programmes.
  • The post holder will provide and monitor the nursing care for a designated group of patients during a care episode.
  • The post holder will also actively contribute to an effective learning environment.

Scope and Range

  • The Registered Nurse Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and behaviours relevant to employment as a Registered Nursing Associate and will work to a nationally recognised Code of Conduct.
  • The Registered Nursing Associate works independently under the leadership of Registered Nurses, working within the scope of their competence and the role requirements in the delivery of nursing care.
  • The Registered Nurse Associate will have the ability to make decisions within their scope of competence and will liaise and report back any findings and evaluations to Registered Nursing staff.

Main duties of the job

  • Demonstrate good understanding of the Mental Health Act / Deprivation of Liberty Standards(DoLs) and applies principles to everyday practice seeking advice /guidance from theRegistered Nurse or registered care professional as required
  • The Registered Nurse Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding,skills, attitudes, and behaviours relevant to employment as a Registered NursingAssociate and will work to a nationally recognised Code of Conduct.
  • The Registered Nursing Associate works independently under the leadership of RegisteredNurses, working within the scope of their competence and the role requirements in thedelivery of nursing care.

  • Educated to a minimum level 5 foundation degree specific to nursing associate practice
  • GCSE level 4-9 in Maths and English or equivalent

Experience

  • Previous experience of working within a health / care setting
  • Understanding of the importance of the promotion of health and wellbeing (Making Every Contact Count)

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
