1. JOB SUMMARY
- The post holder will contribute to clinical leadership and delivery of DBT for adults with complex emotional needs (CEN) and behaviours associated with personality disorders.
- The post holder will hold responsibility for managing a caseload of patients including the assessment, treatment, and discharge of DBT clients in Doncaster, in consultation with the DBT team.
- Deliver DBT based interventions in line with professional standards and treatment protocols.
- Be responsible for day-to-day operational management of the DBT pathway including -- managing referrals and waiting lists.
- Contribute to evaluation, audit, and quality improvement - compliant with NICE guidelines, and system-wide, forward-thinking service development.
- To attend and contribute to weekly Consult sessions in order to contribute to the application of DBT skills, maintain motivation and monitor treatment fidelity.
- Attend any regular clinical supervision as required through university training and/or to meet any professional requirements.
Main duties of the job
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Duties/Responsibility for Patient Care
Reduces clinical risk and improves outcomes through contributing to complex case consultation and discussion.
Formulates and implements evidence-based DBT treatment plans, drawing on clinical research and theoretical models to address recurring crisis patterns collaboratively, including risk management.
Builds effective communication and collaborative relationships with service users, carers, referrers, acute wards, other trusts, and voluntary organisations.
Use DBT skills to review and revise patients' DBT formulation and treatment plans in the light of treatment progress and bring to Consult to explore alternative/reformulated hypotheses and support junior/MDT staff with theirs.
Participates in multidisciplinary meetings and case conferences, offering DBT informed perspectives on care planning.
Staff Management
Oversees referrals, assessments, and therapy delivery within the DBT team.
Manages operational staff responsibilities within the DBT pathway, including appraisals and line management.
Leads recruitment, retention, job planning, and absence management to maintain adequate CEN service coverage.
Delivers training on DBT informed principles and skills to MDT members.
