Job summary
Fixed Term to 30 June 2027
RDaSH is seeking expressions of interest for an experienced, forward-thinking leader to take on the role of Community Development Director. This is a pivotal opportunity to lead a Trust-wide community redesign programme spanning children's services, community health, and adult and older adult mental health.
Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive, senior operational leaders, and system partners, the postholder will drive a complex, multi-year transformation aligned to the Trust's strategic promises. The role will lead programme governance, oversee multi-million-pound budget realignments, and shape new neighbourhood models that place service users, carers, and communities at the centre of change.
We welcome expressions of interest from individuals who can demonstrate:
o Extensive operational leadership experience within NHS community or mental health services
o Evidence of delivering large-scale change, programme management, and redesign in complex systems
o Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including co-production with people with lived experience
o Knowledge of primary care-led NHS developments, neighbourhood models, and digital transformation
o A values-driven leadership style that is compassionate, collaborative, and improvement-focused
Main duties of the job
- Work with the Trust Chief Executive, and his team, to ensure that the development of local plans within care groups and directorates are fit for purpose against wider plans of the Trust, place and national policy direction.
- Lead a well-paced plan for change for community services across mental health, physical health, and children's services
- Ensure alignment with an ambitious use of technology not only as an access enabler for patients but as a treatment modality in selected cases
- Operate as a key storyteller and explainer to disparate audiences outside the Trust on how RDaSH's promises and changes are progressing: this will include patient groups, primary care colleagues, local authority partners, and commissioners
Interviews for this post will take place on 19th December
