Are you an experienced and compassionate Forensic Psychologist looking to apply your expertise within a highly supportive, forward-thinking NHS Community Directorate?

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Forensic Psychologist to join our developing specialist service in North Lincolnshire. The role is part-time (2 days per week) and offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced psychological professionals across our community and secondary care pathways.

Our North Lincolnshire Community Directorate brings together a wide range of multidisciplinary teams who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred and trauma-informed care. We work from our newly developed, purpose-built community base in Scunthorpe.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:o Provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for people with complex mental health and forensic needs.o Offer consultation, advice and supervision to multidisciplinary colleagues, promoting trauma-informed practice.o Contribute to service development, evaluation and audit, embedding evidence-based approaches and high standards of care.o Participate in risk assessment and management, supporting safe, effective care planning.o Supervise and develop trainee psychologists.o Contribute to MDT formulation, reflective practice and staff wellbeing.About the ServiceThe North Lincolnshire Community Directorate includes integrated community, primary care, rehabilitation and crisis pathways. Qualifications and knowledge

Essential

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training or its equivalent in clinical or forensic psychology as accredited by the BPS
  • Additional short specialist courses with demonstrable impact on practice.
  • Clinical supervision training
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to clinical and service area, e.g. Mental Capacity Act, Social Inclusion
  • Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
  • Knowledge of and experience in the use of a wide range of psychometric and other objective assessment tools, such as neuro-assessment, as applied in identified clinical area
  • Skills in co-ordinating programmes of care, and providing consultation and specialist advice to other professional and nonprofessional groups
  • Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, and application of this to research and development activity within the service area
  • Basic IT skills

Desirable

  • Post-doctoral training in one or more specialised areas of psychological practice

  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for service users psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care co-ordinator and also within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
  • Experience of teaching, training and professional and clinical supervision
  • Evidence of advanced practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
  • Evidence of promoting/supporting active user/carer involvement/participation
  • Professional networking locally and regionally
  • Be able to effectively chair meetings
