Health Care Support Worker

Job summary

The 0-5 Health Visiting Service are looking to recruit a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) for 12 months to support a pilot project involved in catching up young children's missing vaccines in the Balby, Bentley, Hexthorpe and Town Centre areas.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced HCSW to support vulnerable families who sometimes struggle to attend appointments to enable them to protect the health and wellbeing of their young children.

This is a secondment opportunity for 12 months, so please get consent from your manager before applying.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will work as part of the team delivering vaccinations in schools, clinics, community settings or at home visits as per the national routine immunisation schedule.
  • The post holder will work in partnership with children, families and partnership agencies to maximise uptake of vaccination programmes and ensure they are delivered safely and effectively
  • The post holder will work with individual families, children and young people to ensure successful vaccination
  • The post holder will work with health, education and partnership agency colleagues to coordinate the programme across a defined population/caseload
  • The post holder will promote vaccination programmes to children, young people and their families to increase coverage of vaccinations

  • A good standard of education including Maths and English Grades A- C

Experience
