Job summary

The North Lincolnshire 0-19 Service is advertising an exciting new role in their Parent Infant Emotional Wellbeing team, supporting the local Start for Life Programme. The team delivers a specialist pathway supporting Parent Infant relationships and perinatal mental health in North Lincolnshire. The team comprises a Clinical Psychologist, Specialist Perinatal Health Visitors, and Parent-Infant Intervention Workers, and works in collaboration with the Local Authority Family Hubs and other key agencies and professionals to develop specialist Parent-Infant relationships provision, and to support existing local perinatal mental health provision, as part of the Start for Life programme.

The postholder will support the team to deliver specialist assessment and therapeutic support to parents, infants and their families through engagement work in the community, co-facilitating groups, and delivering intervention under the supervision of a Senior Clinical Psychologist. The postholder will also support the team to undertake Teaching and Training, Service Evaluation, audit and research.

An Honours degree in Psychology (BSc) and previous experience working as an Assistant Psychologist with mental health and/or psychological presentations, are essential requirements. The successful applicant will have demonstrable passion and enthusiasm for developing skills in perinatal and infant mental health.

Main duties of the job

As an Assistant Psychologist within the team, you will be involved in assisting the assessment, formulation, and delivery of care plans involving psychological treatment of identified perinatal mental health needs. Co-working cases with qualified clinicians and providing therapeutic support where appropriate, you will utilise and enhance your clinical skills and knowledge in parent-infant relationship work and infant mental health. There is also a service evaluation project that will be a core part of this role.

The post holder will have experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist and have an enthusiasm for working with parents and infants in the perinatal period. They will be comfortable working in busy environments, be adaptable and resilient and demonstrate skills in relationship building.
