Job summary
We are seeking to recruit an experienced, competent, and motivated Senior Healthcare Assistant to work alongside the two Hepatitis C specialist nurses. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for any healthcare professional with an interest in this field.
The successful candidate will contribute to the implementation and delivery of high-quality patient care within a professional team. Working with the 2 Clinical Nurse specialists to encourage patients/service users to engage with testing and treatment of Hepatitis C. To work with the South Yorkshire Operational Delivery Network (ODN) to deliver NHS England's elimination plan for Hepatitis C.
If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Main duties of the job
You will be working in a variety of settings, which may include the 3 Doncaster prisons, homeless hostels, drug services and probation, to engage with a diverse and complex client group utilising an inclusive and non-judgemental approach. We would be very interested to hear about your experience / knowledge of working with these patient groups in your application forms.
A large proportion of this role will be screening for Hepatitis C (which would involve taking blood samples from patients) and case finding, working alongside other agencies and community groups in order to identify any new positive patients, educate and refer onto the Specialist nurses for treatment.
Undertake agreed activities as delegated by a registered nurse, with patients / service users under the direct /In-direct supervision of the qualified staff.
Contributes to the implementation and delivery of individualised evidence-based care.
To maintain accurate records electronically, record new problems as they are identified and report all actions to nurse in charge.
The post holder is required to take personal responsibility to incorporate the 6 C vision of care into their care delivery
Provide feedback of current patient / service user status to appropriate members of the-professional team.
Develop a rapport with patients / service users and encourage them to participate in their plan of care
