Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in supporting people with a learning disability to join the team at the Diamond Activity and Therapeutic Services in Doncaster. You will work alongside senior staff & be supported to deliver person centred care in accordance with support plans & agreed activities. Diamond Activity & Therapeutic Services is part of the larger Learning Disability Service in Doncaster and works closely with the staff in our community learning disability teams.
If you don't already have a Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 2apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].
As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.
Main duties of the job
To actively participate in day services activity sessions.
To participate in delivery of personalised care, including activities and meeting personal hygiene and nutritional needs of the service users under the direction of senior staff.
Several of our service users are wheelchair users and there is a requirement to use hoists and push wheelchairs.
To ensure the service users personal information is always treated with thestrictest of confidence. Any requests to disclose information must be relayed to senior staff.
Where required use basic Makaton with service users.To escort service users on site when required.
