Job summary
You will be a member of the Estates and Development professional technical support team with responsibility for providing an effect and co-ordinated estates operational service by operating and managing the delivery of minor works and building maintenance programmes to all areas of the Trust. You may also undertake project management of capital schemes.
Main duties of the job
You will oversee the revenue minor works projects and some capital developments from inception to completion, including contractual arrangements, tendering and maintenance financial control via established procedures and compliance with all statutory requirements. If working on capital schemes you will commission architects and/or design consultants, prepare/verify scheme drawings, specification and schedules of work with the scheme client. You will also be responsible for initiating, controlling and completing the relevant internal contract documents in compliance with the Trust's standing financial instructions and DoH Guidance and Codes.
You will oversee minor works carried out by inhouse maintenance staff as well as managing contractors/sub-contractors to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and specifications. You will also assist with the maintenance of approved lists of architects, building, engineering and specialist contractors as well as preparing a variety of maintenance contracts and overseeing engineering contract renewals working with subject matter expert colleagues as required.
