Job summary

This role is a great opportunity for a candidate who wants to be part of service development and take on a clinical leadership role working with a diverse group of colleagues whilst working clinically with Children and Young People who present with varied and complex mental health needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to transform the way in which Children and Young People's Emergency & Urgent Care is experienced by CYP and those who care for them across Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humber. As part of the NHS Mental Health Implementation Plan 2019/20 - 2023/24, RDaSH has undertaken the development of a crisis response services for CYP.

The post holder will work closely with the Clinical Leads and Service Manager to further develop this team to deliver innovative ways of supporting Children and Young People to improve their mental health and wellbeing and support recovery.

Main duties of the job

The post will facilitate the interface between Primary Care and Secondary Mental Health Services to provide expert clinical leadership and knowledge to the local Primary Care Teams, for patients and carers. The role will offer expertise in networking and navigation to promote ease of access to a range of specialist mental health support services.

The post holder will be an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team. They will be professionally accountable and responsible for patient care, clinical supervision and leadership of mental health staff. They will interpret policy and best practice guidance and apply it to the clinical based services, ensuring that they remain modern and fit for purpose.
