Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech and Language Therapist within the Adult Learning Disability Service based in Rotherham. We are looking for a Band 6 Therapist or an experienced Band 5 who would like to work towards a Band 6 role with support and guidance. If you have a passion for working with adults with a learning disability, we would love to hear from you.

As well as working within a supportive Speech and Language Therapy service, the successful applicant will join an established multi-disciplinary team working alongside Community Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Psychological Therapy to deliver person centred care to individuals with a wide range of communication, eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.

We are looking for a compassionate and hard working candidate who has a good knowledge of evidence based practice, has access to transport and the ability to travel around the required geographical area.

Main duties of the job

  • Supporting service users with their communication needs.
  • Supporting service users with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.
  • Working within the service's established multi-disciplinary team pathways.
  • Supervising AHP support workers.
