Job summary
Rotherham Doncaster and South Humberside NHS Foundation Trust have successfully been delivering Mental Health Support Teams in Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire schools and colleges since 2019. North Lincolnshire joined this journey as part of wave 5 and 7 more recently wave 11 . This project is underpinned by national strategies and initiatives for transforming children and young people's mental health.
We have an exciting band 3 opportunity within our Doncaster team for a further Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner. We are looking to recruit a practitioner who is enthusiastic, kind, compassionate and resilient.
If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].
As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.
Main duties of the job
This is a very exciting opportunity to be part of the expansion of MHST's in North Lincolnshire, implementing 'New Ways of Working' within the local area.
With Me in Mind supports children/young people and their families providing emotional and mental health support whilst enhancing services that already exist. The service ensure that early intervention and prevention are in place in all education providers working with school years 3 to 13. The service supports children, young people and families providing extra capacity for early intervention support within school and college settings.
The Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner is an active member of the team working with others to support the delivery of mental health and emotional wellbeing activities and to deliver positive outcomes for children and young people (aged 7-18 years) and their families. The post holder will deliver a range of delegated activities as part of a wider skill mix team to support children, young people and their families by offering age-appropriate information and advice on a range of emotional health, lifestyle and behaviour related issues.
