Job summary
We are recruiting a Student Nursing Associate (formally Trainee Nursing Associate) to work within our Physical Health care group. This means that your base placement will be within Specialist Continence Service and upon registration with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) you will be allocated a Nursing Associate role within Specialist Continence Service.
This apprenticeship opportunity is being offered as part of a partnership with other regional health care organisations and will enable you to be part of a two-year work-based learning programme, delivered in conjunction with the course provider. Successful candidates on completion of the apprenticeship will be awarded a Level 5 Foundation Degree and become a qualified Nursing Associate which includes NMC registration. The two-year Higher Apprenticeship programme will include up to two base placements plus short alternative placements in our other services or partner organisations across the ICS (Integrated Care System) within a variety of settings. Successful candidates will be expected to travel to placements throughout the programme and to the course providers base for taught sessions where required.
You will be expected to work Monday to Friday 08:30 - 16:30 pm shift patterns whilst on base placement. On alternative placements you may be expected to work over a 24hr, 7 day a week shift pattern.
Main duties of the job
To meet the academic requirements of the course the entry criteria for the posts are:
o Minimum age 18
o Previous experience of working in a health/social care setting
o 100% compliant on MAST Training (internal applicants only)
o English and Maths at GCSE A-C (4-9) or Functional Skills Maths and English at level2 - if invited to interview evidence of Maths and English qualifications MUST be provided, if evidence is not provided applicants will not progress to the next stage of recruitment.
o Please review the attached document "Apprenticeship Funding Eligibility", to ensure that you meet any additional required funding criteria.

o Evidence of relevant Maths and English qualifications.
o Care Certificate or appropriate demonstrable experience in a caring role
Additionally, the following criteria is required:
o Internal applicants must be able to demonstrate line manager approval by submission of 'Internal Reference Request for Development Roles' form (attached to advert) - Please email proof to the recruiting manager, before the advert closing date.
Successful candidates must be available to attend the pre-induction day (24th March 2025).
