Fixed Term NHS Talking Therapies Communications and Engagement Officer

Job summary

These are exciting new Fixed Term roles to work in the Communications & Talking Therapies in Rotherham, Doncaster & Scunthorpe.

The post holder will promote Trust-wide Talking Therapies services through effective and innovative communication and engagement in local communities. This will include developing and maintaining links with local businesses and third-party organisations with the aim to increase service engagement and access.

The role will ensure that any marketing or communication in relation to Talking Therapies is effective and in line with the wider Trust Communication strategy, policies and procedures.

The role will involve supporting the writing and production of service publications, key messages and presentations, input on materials and campaigns, input into the development and maintenance of online communication tools and maintenance of the website and other communication channels.

The post holder will be required to create effective marketing and promotional campaigns to achieve service goals, using market research and analysis to direct marketing strategy and planning. They will support in the delivery of creative and engaging innovative online campaigns to educate, involve and increase audience engagement.

Whilst the main hours of working will be between 8.30 - 4.30, Monday to Friday, there will need to be flexibility. Some working hours may be in the evenings and at weekends and the post holder will be required to adjust their working hours accordingly.

Main duties of the job

  • Develop and implement an effective communication, engagement and marketing campaign which promotes Talking Therapies
  • Utilising market research and data analysis, create promotional materials and campaigns which will ensure effective engagement with diverse communities across all three geographical locations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders to maximise the promotion of Talking Therapies services across all business sectors
  • Develop and attend engagement events with community groups and businesses ensuring communication and promotional materials are appropriate to meet the needs of a diverse audience
  • Liaise with key partners (Local Authorities, GP's, etc) to identify opportunities to increase and improve public and patient engagement
  • Ensure that effective links are established and maintained with local support groups and networks who may benefit from Talking Therapies
  • Explore, develop and implement innovative ways of engaging with the public
  • To be involved with the Trust Patient and Public Involvement work in relation to Talking Therapies
  • Work closely with the Trust Communications Team to ensure all Talking Therapies promotional material is appropriate and up to date
  • Work with the Trust Recruitment Team to provide effective promotional material for recruitment campaigns
