Job summary
As a Research Support Officer you would be expected to take the lead in delivery for support work, provide support to junior colleagues, including supervision. You would be expected to take a leadership role within the team for your junior colleagues. You would also be required to be part of interview panels to recruit new staff. You will have an active role within the multi- disciplinary team' liaising with others as appropriate and where necessary escalating any concerns to a professional.
This role will include leading specific groups and carrying out the assessments and outcome measures associated with these groups. The post holder will also support the delivery of a variety of research studies, including participant recruitment, data collection and data entry. This also includes update and maintenance of accurate up to date documentation in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To meet with a variety of individuals and, in conjunction with colleagues, support them in their research recruitment journey
With appropriate support, ensure the Service User and Carer standards are understood and implemented fully into daily practice
To work independently as required and provide support to clinical staff with day to day research team processes
To work in isolated situations with research participants and research champions who may be vulnerable or at risk on an individual basis where required
To establish supportive and empowering relationships with the Research Participant and Research Champion
To monitor and report any issues raised by research participants as part of their research journey
To take appropriate courses of action and to escalate to the appropriate level of authority in an emergency
To recruit and induct support and administrative workers, as appropriate; to offer personal and observational supervision to them regularly; and mentoring, and to undertake line management responsibilities for a team of support workers
To participate in and be responsible for staff development as part of Team meetings as and when required
