Job summary

The Children's Care Group Transformation Team are looking for a dynamic, experienced, self-motivated person who will:

  • support and assist in the involvement of children/young people, and their families/carers, who are engaged in services delivered by the Children's Care group in line with the Trust's Patient and Public Engagement and Experience Strategy
  • To consolidate and develop information received from patient feedback and provide this in a way that will assist management in the development of a patient and carer informed service.
  • To engage with local service users and carer groups working across all three geographical areas
  • Work with existing Engagement and Participation Worker and other team members
  • Work closely with the trust Equality, Diversity and Participation Team, operational services and across the Integrated Care Systems to provide patient and public engagement opportunities

Main duties of the job

In relation to patient and public engagement and experience the post holder's main responsibilities will be to:

Support delivery and work with the Children's Care Group and Trust Patient and Public Engagement and Experience Strategy.

Work closely with the Children's Care group transformation team in relation to patient and public engagement and experience opportunities.

Work with individual services to establish links with patients and members of the public including groups and networks within each of the localities in which the Trust provides services

  • Explore innovative ways of engaging stakeholders.
  • Plans facilitate and co-ordinate meetings, events, focus groups and other methods of working collaboratively with patients, carers, the public and staff. Reasonable adjustments may also need to be considered i.e., working with patients with learning disabilities or other disabilities. The post holder will be responsible for recommending policy/service changes following the evaluation of feedback which is received from patient, carer and public events
  • Monitor patient related outcomes using accepted outcome measures, and ensure these outcomes are fed back to children/young people and their families/carers appropriately.
  • To facilitate improvements in levels of service user feedback across the service, using feedback processes such as 'Care Opinion' under the direction of management.
