Job summary

Rotherham With Me In Mind (Mental Health Support Team) are excited to be one of the national 'trailblazer' sites for developing mental health support in schools, with a current strategy to expand and have an additional team as part of Wave 10 funding. This is an exciting time for the team as it continues to develop, implementing 'New Ways of Working' and a new service model underpinned by national strategies and initiatives for transforming children and young people's mental health.

We have two already established teams in most of the education settings across Rotherham as part of the first trailblazer wave and wave 6. This wave 10 expansion will give us approximately 70% coverage of the education settings in Rotherham. Due to retirement and internal promotion, we have two exciting band 6 opportunity within our Rotherham team for a Senior Mental Health Support Team Practitioner. For this post, we are looking for someone who holds a core profession in health or social care such as an RMN, OT or social worker. You must be enthusiastic, kind, compassionate and resilient. We seek practitioners from diverse backgrounds.

Main duties of the job

Practitioners will work in both educational and health settings within Rotherham to support the implementation of the MHST model. The successful candidates will integrate into our already well-established mental health support teams and compliment the early intervention offer within our local areas. Some duties include:

  • Consultations with schools.
  • Delivering Whole School Approach such as delivering assemblies, staff training and whole class activities.
  • Delivering group work to children and young people.
  • Operating e-clinic
