Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist/Counselling Psychologist to join the newly developed age inclusive place-based Primary Care Integrated Mental Health Hub (PCIMHH) within Rotherham. This team is a key part of local and national primary and community transformation to increase access for mental health support. The post is 0.9wte but there is the possibility of this increasing to 1.0wte.

As part of the PCIMHH you would be clinically led by the principal clinical psychologist and would be part of a significant group (approximately fourteen psychological professionals) including Clinical Psychologists, CBT, Clinical Associate Psychologists, Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners and Assistant Psychologists. The PCIMHH also includes staff from all our place partners to holistically meet the needs of service users with complex needs, therefore the role will include close collaboration with VCSE organisations, Social Care etc.

The successful applicant will have Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS; and HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (or pending registration from qualification September 2024).

Main duties of the job

Within the PCIMHH you would provide clinical psychology support to dedicated Primary Care Networks (PCN) including consultation, supervision and; psychological assessment, formulation and brief interventions. You would also work into the individual psychological therapies hub that sits alongside the PCIMHH and CMHT, providing evidence-based psychological therapies in line with NICE guidance. It is likely that a key part of your role would also be working within the groups hub.

We are looking for a clinical psychologist with excellent clinical skills, and a passion for working with people with a broad range of mental health needs across the lifespan. The successful candidate will have a strong drive to work collaboratively as part of the primary and community mental health systems to enhance and develop services. They will be committed the principles of recovery, have effective interpersonal and time management skills, as well as being a responsive and motivated team player.

We have a strong and thriving community of clinical psychologists and psychological therapists within Rotherham primary and community mental health services. We are strongly invested in supporting staff development through further training opportunities and there is a strong focus on quality supervision provided by our Senior Clinical Psychologists but also specialist supervision groups for supporting clinical practice within particular models of practice including EMDR and CAT.
