Job summary

This is a clinical leadership post in which the post holder will be a dynamic professional with strong leadership skills, particularly in the areas of clinical practice, supervision, developing clinicians and therapists and evaluation of clinical services.

Experience of working within a governance framework and achievement of Talking Therapies key performance indicators(KPI's). The post holder will be a professional able to utilise advanced therapeutic knowledge and skills and will be responsible for the clinical delivery of psychological therapy within an Talking Therapies setting; commencing from the point of referral through to treatment and discharge.

The post holder will ensure high quality psychological therapies are accessible and implemented for people with a range of psychological mental health problems utilising therapy approaches which are in line with the guidelines of the National Institute for Clinical Excellence and that are evidence based and Talking Therapy compliant.

The post holder will support interface meetings with specialist mental health teams and other key stakeholders and will be the point of contact for clinical discussions around the transfer of clinical cases.

The post holder will also work as a high level clinician providing Step 3 Talking Therapy psychological assessments and treatment interventions for a set number of people accessing the service.

Main duties of the job

To clinically lead the team of therapy staff within an agreed NHS Talking Therapies Service.

To have clinical input into the contracts of external therapy providers in an advisory capacity to the service/team manager.

Enhance and develop the clinical team, by identifying training needs and sourcing appropriate training.

To ensure patients are allocated to the correct care pathway best able to meet their mental health needs.

Develop evidence based specialised programmes of therapy and care in line with service developments, in conjunction with Service Manager / and Clinical Director.

Advise professionals on appropriate referrals for a range of therapy modalities.

To provide teaching and training packages to different professions and professional groups.

To be responsible for overseeing clinical supervision for the team, ensuring it is conducted effectively as per Trust policy and incorporates individual performance data analysis.
