Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 8a Highly Specialised Applied Psychologist (Clinical/Counselling/Forensic)or an Accredited Family Therapist & Psychotherapist/Systemic Practitioner to join our adult mental health service. If you are looking to build on your skills or wish to take your therapy career to the next level then this is the post for you.

You will deliver specialist psychological assessments and therapy, for individuals, couples, groups, families and teams, as well as provide highly specialised case consultation to professionals. Main duties of the job

Accountable for own professional practice in undertaking specialist assessment, formulation, and therapeutic intervention methods for individuals, couples, family systems and groups with psychological, emotional or mental health conditions and/or trauma across (Doncaster) adult community mental health team.

Be responsible for assessing and managing risk including in a crisis or safeguarding situation

To provide clinical supervision/reflective practice to other healthcare professionals and multi-disciplinary team members, as appropriate and where trained to do so.

To attend and contribute to MDTs, for instance to provide case consultation, share formulations, offer advice and training.

To be compassionate in meeting the needs of clients, their carers and families.

(Where appropriate) to undertake formal research / service evaluations and to act as field supervisor for doctorate clinical psychology trainees.

To be pro-active in continual service improvement.

To promote, at all times, a positive image of people with mental health difficulties, the psychology service and wider Trust and to act as an advocate ensuring there is proper regard for people's dignity, choice, self-esteem and racial, cultural, sexual and religious needs and preferences.

  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver assessment and treatment with individuals, couples and families experiencing a variety of mental health conditions.
  • Experience of delivering group work.
