Chief Medical Officer
This job is now closed
Job summary
We are looking for a new Chief Medical Officer to join the Board of Directors, executive group and our clinical leadership executive to lead our work on clinical standards, research and medical education and support our primary care, pharmacy and coronial liaison efforts.
They would join a team that is shaping up to support an ambitious, radical five-year strategy which puts the communities we serve at the very heart of the Trust as we work to become genuinely community powered. Our mission is to nurture the power in our communities.
We are part-way through a fast-paced transition which means we need senior colleagues who truly want to make a difference. RDaSH benefits from outstanding research capability and strong service-user partnerships. We want to bridge those two assets and create a listening enterprise that experiments for the right results so we can deliver services to be proud of. Working with New Local and Virginia Mason, we are investing heavily in leadership development and quality improvement over the coming two years.
In support of our strategy, we have wholly reorganised how we lead and have altered accountabilities within our multi-professional executive team. The CMO will work alongside our established Director of Psychological Professionals and new Chief Nurse to help, challenge and advise our new Chief Operating Officer and the five Care Groups that provide our all-age portfolio of learning disabilities, community, public and mental health services.
Main duties of the job
Our overwhelming focus on implementation will make for a rewarding leadership role with system, neighbourhood and organisational impact
We are seeking an experienced or high potential Chief Medical Officer who shares our values and passion. The applications will close on 26th August with a Stakeholder meeting scheduled for 5th September and the final interview taking place on Friday 6th September. Our Trust actively seeks a more diverse leadership group and has made major steps in that direction at Board level in 23/24. We positively encourage applications from those traditionally excluded from senior roles. Most of our strategy comprises promises to address inequity.
You will need all of the essential, and many of the desirable criteria in the person specification and demonstrable consultant practice. We have consultant roles in child and adolescent psychiatry, older adults, acute and learning disabilities care available.
We are looking for someone able to bring new ideas and to fit within a team of teams. A strong appreciation of joint work with the voluntary sector and with primary care is crucial. Our first strategic promise is to have peer support workers embedded in every service.
We are especially interested in your leadership skills including your ability to coach and influence others. We want to work with someone committed to supporting medical experts into leadership roles.
