Job summary
The two Senior Financial Accountant post holders will take responsibility for the Financial Services department requirements of the RDASH Group, which consists of Financial Accounting, Capital, Cashiers, Charitable Funds and Related services (Debtors and Creditors) functions. The post holders report directly to the Assistant Director of Finance - Financial Services who provides the overall leadership and direction of Financial Services.
The specific duties and the staff line management/supervisory responsibilities of the two post holders will be determined by the Assistant Director of Finance and these will be subject to review periodically.
The post holders will provide high quality financial services and will take responsibility to ensure these functions work to robust documented financial procedures, to process all relevant financial transactions with completeness, accuracy and timeliness. To act on issues of non-compliance with financial procedures in order to remove weaknesses and improve the financial controls and related systems.
Main duties of the job
1. Responsible for the management and performance of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable Sections (Including Flourish Enterprises CIC) of the Finance Department.
Responsible re RDASH for completion of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) accounting group agreement of balance exercises according to the guidance/requirements.
3. To ensure financial information is processed in accordance with procedures - and investigating highly complex enquiries and provide assistance and advice as required.
4. Responsible for producing for review by the Assistant Director of Finance the capital, balance sheet and cash elements of the [PFR] monthly monitoring and Board reports in an accurate and timely manner in order that the Trust meets the targets set by NHSE/I.
5. Substantial input into the completion of the Trust month 9 and month 12 TAC reports as per the requirements and determining processes for the streamlining /automation of these financial reporting requirements.
6. Prepare statutory NHS accounts and other returns in accordance with national timescales, interpreting these where necessary.
7. Take responsibility for the monthly / quarterly and annual financial reporting of the Hospital Charity according to the procedures, the SORP, Charity Commission and other legal requirements.
