Job summary

An exciting development opportunity has arisen in our Doncaster Adult Community Learning Disabilities Team for a full-time 7-8a Clinical Psychologist.

We're a comprehensive multidisciplinary team committed to improving the quality of life of individuals with Learning Disabilities and are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate colleague to join us in achieving this. The team includes Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Art Therapy, Learning Disability Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech & Language Therapy. This is a rich and diverse role which will be supervised and managed by a Clinical Psychologist and involves direct and indirect psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention. You will work with individuals with Learning Disabilities and their support networks, in addition to providing psychological consultation to colleagues, to help understand and support mental health needs and distressed behaviours. Teaching and training, and supporting the development of new clinical pathways, is also integral to the role.

Main duties of the job

Accountable for own professional practice in the delivery of specialist Clinical Psychology care to clients with complex psychological or mental health conditions within the designated team or service area.

To be compassionate in meeting the needs of clients, their carers and families.

To provide clinical supervision and training to less experienced colleagues within the designated psychology service and to other members of the multidisciplinary team.

To be pro-active in continual service improvement within own area.

To promote at all times a positive image of people with learning disabilities or mental health difficulties.

To promote at all times a positive image of the service and the wider Trust.
